About CORK

Since 1969, CORK has been enthusiastically hosting major sailing events for youth, elite sailors and sailors for life. Championships for international classes are held regularly in the waters off Kingston.

The main annual regatta takes place over 14 days and comprises a series of events. The elite event is CORK OCR for top international sailors. It has achieved Grade 1 ranking for both Laser and Laser Radial classes. The development event for sailors and officials is CORK International. It is usually the largest single event with a significant contingent of young sailors in the Optimist dinghy. The Offshore and One Design series is for older sailors following the “sailing for life” path. With a total participation of up to 800 sailors in 650 boats, this annual regatta is a magnificent sailing festival.

The CORK fall regatta is another elite annual event for Olympic and development classes. In addition, separate championships may be held early in the season and have included the 2007 Volvo Youth Worlds and the 2010 Optimist Dinghy North American Championships. CORK regularly hosts 1500 sailors in 1000 boats on an annual basis.
